Coach programs for Health

The research says...

Rudeness is routinely experienced by hospital-based medical teams. Individuals exposed to mildly rude behaviour perform poorly on cognitive tasks, exhibit reduced creativity and flexibility, and are less helpful and prosocial.
Greater attention should be paid to day-to-day social interaction as a critical risk factor for … adverse events caused by teams delivering health care…
— Riskin et al, 2015
Communication failures account for the overwhelming majority (more than 70% in one study) of unanticipated adverse events in patients.
...
Effective teamwork and communication can help prevent these inevitable mistakes from becoming consequential, and harming patients and providers—[in particular] creating a common language and an environment that feels ‘safe’ to team members so they will speak up when they have safety concerns.
— Leonard, Graham & Bonacum, 2004

360 feedback for leaders

Our Leadership Effectiveness and Aptitude Profile (LEAP) 360° survey suite takes the guesswork out of individual professional development.

We recognise that health sector workforces frequently operate under high levels of stress. But research also shows that team communication patterns heavily exacerbate those stresses. Around 70% of costly errors (including those involving patient death) stem from poor or negative team communication. Our 360 surveys help leaders implement transformational cultures that embody professional, respectful, positive and productive communication within hierarchical organisations.

More broadly, in conjunction with executive coaching, our 360 feedback processes provide leaders with positively charged, practical professional development with lasting impacts.

Transforming workforce communication culture

Numerous large health workforces have unlocked their communication culture using our Class Act program. We understand that Health sector organisations are regularly subjected to adverse media coverage related to bullying and harassment. Our programs help organisations deal with difficult external media as well as internal issues, eliminating workplace bullying and negative internal and external communication patterns that commonly challenge Health organisations.

Leadership coaching programs

Legacy Leadership

Leadership can be lonely. However, understanding how the emotional brain works—and tapping into the ways our people think, process, decide and behave—is a privilege that can empower leaders to truly maximise their influence. Our leadership programs empower managers and executives with rare and transformational influencing skills for a lifetime.

Together Teams

All too often, members of a team function well individually but have difficulty functioning together. Our specialist consultants will work with each person individually then bring the group back together to work through team tensions. The way we talk to each other at work is often the thing we talk about the least. Our group sessions provide a safe environment for blocking behaviour to be articulated, professionally discussed and resolved.

In our Coach House we design long-term, cyclical and one-off leadership development programs for clients using a mix of 360 feedback, executive coaching and group coaching clinics targeted to development priorities—from emotional intelligence to creating innovation cultures.

We also have customised leadership development programs—such as our Legacy Leadership program—to help leaders leverage their strengths across all aspects of their leadership.

We also offer organisational wide access to our Wellbeing Hub which contains short video clips, tips, resources, a thought-provoking survey, and access to group discussion sessions to help staff in times of change and uncertainty.

Finally, with our Communication Fix we provide consultancy services to support leaders with both internal and external communication.
